Let me just start this one off by saying I love a good granola. Almost as much as I love a good cookie, and y’all know how I feel about cookies.
I also really love making my own granola. I love that when I make my own granola I know exactly what goes into it. And I also love that when I make my own granola I am fully in control of the final product. Everyone knows there’s a perfect granola.
But let’s be honest, y’all. As much as I love making all of my own things, sometimes I just honestly run out of time. Want me to be even more honest? Sometimes I just don’t feel like it. And then I am caught between a rock and a hard place.
Because I am too tired (sometimes lazy) to make my own, but I refuse to buy most grocery store options. (Because so. many. ingredients.)
But guess what? No more wedging myself between a rock and a hard place because I discovered Seeds, Oats, & Nuts!
Let me give you the back story. Actually there are a couple of stories. The first story is that I have a friend back in California that I keep in touch semi-regularly. A few months back I started noticing that she was sharing a lot on Instagram about this new granola-y thing called Seeds, Oats, & Nuts. I was intrigued not only because I am a food-aholic, but also because it was new.
The long story short is that her family recently moved to the Central Coast of California (where she lives), and her mom wanted to find a new career path. She was formerly a teacher, and just needed a transition. Whatever she did, she knew she had to be passionate about it. When people asked her what she was passionate about, the first thing that came to her mind was always food. (Amen, sister).
She also has quite the little world traveling, adventure seeking family, so keeping healthy snacks on hand was a huge priority for her. Combine all of that with a desire to help others eat healthy, and Seeds, Oats, & Nuts was born!
Leah (the mastermind behind it all) researched and did many trial and error batches with the best seeds and nuts to come up with the perfect combo. And while she took the health benefits and nutrition very seriously, she did not compromise on taste. If you ask me, she deserves an applause for that one.
Okay, so you wanna know the second story?
Well, my husband and I planned a camping trip for my birthday, which also happens to be the Fourth of July! We booked our site in February and looked forward to it for months! I started to get overwhelmed as it got closer. We weren’t just going camping an hour away- we were going deep into the mountains where it drops to 30-something degrees at night. So keeping my baby alive was enough to worry about. But then there’s everything else… firewood, tarps, groceries, pillows, sleeping bags, lanterns, and any other random camping thing you can think of.
And I needed to make a huge batch of granola for our trip.
I realized that I just couldn’t do it all. I looked for some easy alternatives to a lot of the things I had planned to make from scratch. The granola options at the store just weren’t cutting it for me. That’s when I looked to Seeds, Oats, & Nuts!
The next best thing to homemade granola has to be buying homemade granola from someone else, right? It was the perfect opportunity to give Seeds, Oats, & Nuts a try! We got a bag and we saved it for our trip with great anticipation.
So how was it? Did it deliver for us deep in the mountains where we could have starved? I know that is what you are waiting for.
Y’all, it was absolutely incredible. I can’t even say “it was the next best thing to homemade,” because it is homemade.
Seeds, Oats, & Nuts is carefully produced in a home kitchen in the heart of San Luis Obispo, CA. It is perfectly crunchy and has so much texture. It is subtly sweet and perfectly savory at the same time. It has a nutty taste, but not one that is overwhelming (like when something is loaded with peanuts).
The best part was knowing every single ingredient and trusting that it was truly good for me and not filled with crazy preservatives. The other best part was that it was absolutely filling and totally satisfying. It is not loaded with crazy amounts of sugar that drag you down, but rather it is made with healthy fats and unrefined sugar. We ate it for breakfast by the creek every morning on our trip, and we also took it with us on our hikes to keep ourselves fueled!
If you are looking for homemade granola but simply don’t have the time to make it yourself, give Seeds, Oats, & Nuts a try! You will not regret it!
