Avocados are the new banana.
Okay, maybe not.
I mean, I am not going to try to tell you to make avocado bread instead of banana, although that does provoke curiosity within me.
I am going to say, however, that avocados so good in smoothies, and in my opinion, so much better for you. Don’t get me wrong, I make smoothies with bananas all the time, but when I am going for the healthiest start to my day, I like to swap the banana for an avocado. They have as much potassium, if not more, and a million other health benefits that banana’s simply can’t boast of.
And don’t let them (whoever they are) scare you about the fat- it’s good fat, and unlike bananas, avocados are not loaded with sugar.
This smoothie is simple, so easy, and so delicious- and like almost all smoothies, the fruit can really be swapped out for just about anything you want to make it taste exactly like you like it!
Enjoy!

Creamy Avocado Smoothie
Here's What You Need
- 1/2 medium ripe avocado
- 1 c soy milk*
- 1 c frozen strawberries
- 1/2 c frozen pineapple**
- 2 tbsp almond butter
Here's What You Do
-
Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth and creamy. Use more or less milk to create desired thickness.
Recipe Notes
- *I use soy milk for added protein since I don’t do dairy milk, but you can use any milk of your choice depending on your desired taste as well as nutritional needs!
- **The frozen pineapple can be substituted- I just like to give this smoothie a little tang!
