Y’all, let’s just talk about avocados for a minute.
First of all, they are ENTIRELY delicious. Second, they are super good for you- even more than people realize. Yes, they have all the great fats that your body needs and promote good healthy cholesterol, but did you know that they are also loaded with other benefits? “Like what,” you ask.
Well, they have even more potassium than a banana, they are loaded with fiber, and if that’s not enough for you, they are also extremely rich in vitamin K and folate.
Seriously, move over bananas. The avocados are taking your place.
Okay, maybe not in everything. But here lately, they are definitely taking your place in our smoothies and smoothie bowls and we aren’t sad about it.
Because, sorry bananas, but the avocados are just way better for us.
Oh, and I hate to break it to you, but that delicious good fat in them makes them way creamier than you, too.
AVOCADOS Y’ALL.
Seriously, it may sound weird, but it’s the greatest new thing in our house. We’ve replaced bananas with avocados, and our smoothies just went to eleven.
I had been wanting to make a cherry smoothie bowl for quite some time, and I don’t know why but cherry avocado just felt right. Avocados are slightly sweet but neutral, and cherries are sweet and tangy, so I thought it could be the perfect combo.
And y’all. It was. Cherries and avocados were meant to be made one… in a smoothie at least.
It was super easy, super fast, and super perfect.
Three simple ingredients in the smoothie mixture: Avocado, cherries, almond milk. That’s it.
And on top? Just a little bit of my maple almond granola and a few cherries.
You can also drizzle some honey on top for a little added sweetness if you like, but I was in too much of a hurry to get mine in my belly.
I could go on and on about how great it was, but then I’d be keeping you from experiencing it yourself.
So run, do not walk, and get in your kitchen and make yourself one of these.
